Internships
Jan 9th, 2008 by financeacademy
A big part of NAF’s vision of an academy is the internship portion. All Finance Academy members should, if possible, complete a paid internship. At the present time, nearly all of Shades Valley internships are completed through the co-op program. The students work in a business setting where they are supervised by an instructor at Shades Valley, Melinda DiBenedetto. These students have a mentor in the business that trains them in their specific job and offers support and guidance from the employment side of the internship. These students bring extensive computer, accounting, and financial knowledge to the business which they have acquired through their finance classes. This is a great opportunity for business people to help in the education of tomorrow’s business leaders. It is also a wonderful experience for these young people as they apply their financial knowledge to real work experience.
